Save More with Ebates and ShopAtHome

If you’ve been snagging the online bargains offered by Groupon or other deal of the day sites, you may be excited to learn there’s a way to save even more on many of these online purchases.
Both Ebates and ShopAtHome offer cash back rebates when you buy from any of their partner retailers, and many of the online stores featured on Groupon lately are partners with these two cash back sites.
For example, Chocolate.com has been offering deals on Groupon lately. Once you’re ready to use your purchased Chocolate.com Groupon, you can shop at Chocolate.com through ShopAtHome or Ebates to get 5% cash back.
Want another example? Remember the Picaboo Groupons available recently? Well, if you shop at Picaboo through ShopAtHome, you’ll get 10% of your purchase total back!
Still not enough to convince you of the awesomeness of these cash back sites? Did you buy the Zazzle Groupon offered just a few weeks ago? Both ShopAtHome and Ebates are offering 15% cash back!
How an online retailer counts your Groupon will determine what amount you receive cash back on. If an online retailer counts your Groupon as a coupon during checkout, you will only receive cash back on the amount you spend after the Groupon. If the retailer counts it as a method of payment- like a gift card- then you should receive cash back on the amount spent, including both the Groupon amount and any additional money spent.
The cherry on top of both these sites is that you get a $5 cash bonus just for signing up and making your first purchase.
To get the savings:
1. Before you make an online purchase with a Groupon (or really any online purchase!), search Ebates and ShopAtHome for any cash back offers. If an online retailer is available with both sites, select the one with the greatest cash back reward.
2. Click “Shop Now”. You’ll then be taken directly to the online retailer that you want to shop.
3. Shop like you usual, entering the Groupon number during checkout as instructed on the Groupon voucher.
4. Your cash back will be automatically credited to your Ebates/ShopAtHome account within a few weeks. Both sites pay out quarterly. Ebates will pay you at the end of the quarter during which you reach an account balance of $5.01 (not counting your sign up bonus), and ShopAtHome pays once you reach a balance of $20.
I’ve been using both of these sites for a couple of years and love how easy they make it to save!

You can also shop Groupon through Ebates and get 3% back just by buying a Groupon!
I think using a Groupon could potentially disqualify you from the “ebate,” though. They say in their policy that you can’t combine their site with another offer or gift certificate.
